A VOTE FOR
EMPOWERING IMMIGRANTS
...by expanding Government funding for programs
in the Library and the Americana Center
With the increase in attacks on our immigrant communities at the federal level, it is important to realize what can be done for these communities at home. The Americana Center and the Iroquois Library are cornerstones in helping immigrants acclimate to life in our wonderful city and it is largely contribute to why 40214, the largest Zipcode in District 21, is the second most diverse zipcode in the State of Kentucky.
I will propose legislation that allows the the Americana Center and the Library to receive more funding from the city government to allow it to continue to operate and expand its operations so it is never at risk of closing again.
...by protecting immigrant communities
against masked ICE agents
In a recent failed Metro Council Vote, City Council failed to pass legislation that banned law enforcement from wearing face coverings with no other identifiers. If all current Democrat Metro Council Person Voted in favor of this, it would have passed. I would be 100 percent in favor of this measure.
I will support Councilman JP Lyninger's reintroduction of the mask ban.
I will also make Louisville a Sancutary City so that we will not comply with the outrageous demands of ICE.
A VOTE FOR
SUPPORTING TARC GROWTH
TARC is facing a funding crisis right now. Recently leadership has released THREE plans to move forward.
Limited Plan - Which is unlikely to move forward with but severely cuts route access and jobs at TARC
Enhanced Plan - Slightly better than the current network but if no new funding is secured they will be forced to use the Limited Plan
Growth Plan - Free TARC, Better job access, more residents are able to walk to bus stops but it requires a referendum to vote on it
Limited Plan
-
The average resident can reach 9% fewer jobs in 60 minutes
-
30% fewer jobs are within a ½ mile walk of any transit service.
-
34% fewer residents are within a ½ mile walk of any transit service.

Enhanced Plan
-
The average resident can reach 3% more jobs by transit in 60 minutes
-
27% fewer residents are within a ½ mile walk of any transit service. Compared to the Limited Network there is more coverage, including keeping some level of transit service in Jeffersontown and along Cane Run Road.
-
6% fewer jobs are within a ½ mile walk of any transit service.

Growth Plan
-
The average resident can reach at least 20% more jobs by transit in 60 minutes.
-
At least 98% more residents are within a 1/2 mile walk of frequent transit service (a bus every 15 minutes or better), compared to today's network.
-
At least 1% more jobs are within a 1/2 mile walk of any transit service.

A VOTE FOR
ADVOCATING GOVERNMENT TRANSPARENCY
...by hosting monthly town halls
Once elected, I will host monthly town halls to talk with you, the constituents of District 21, and hear your concerns. In addition to what is currently offered, we will schedule these at reasonable times so that I can hear from more of you.
...by holding elected officials accountable
The Louisville area has attracted big money for new developments, including data center projects. It's critical that we understand ALL impacts of these proposals AND who benefits financially from their development.
A VOTE FOR
ENSURING SAFETY
FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Our police department is currently facing a staffing and response time issue. As City Councilman, I plan on introducing legislation that addresses this on three points
...by addressing the police labor
shortage
...by refining dispatch processes
...by cutting overspending
Adding social workers to the LMPD will address the staffing issue by reducing the number of cases our officers have to respond to.
After adding social workers to the police force, dispatch will be streamlined so that standing officers are sent only where they are needed.
After dispatch times are lowered, there will be room to look for new efficiencies that could save the city money and keep you safe.
